Dear Parents and Families,

 

      Hello my name is Coach Charles Mollard and I am the head wrestling coach at Rio Linda Prep. I formerly was a High school wrestling coach at Highlands High School and Rio Linda High School and this is my second year here. My goal is to give the Junior High students a chance to give the sport of wrestling a try with minimal or zero expense. My college wrestling team mate has raised money and has bought our team uniforms and headgear. My nephew has collected wrestling shoes for the team to be able to use. Of course if you want your wrestler to have their own then you may purchase for them. I will be assigning headgear for each wrestler that they only will be using and making sure only they will use throughout the season and I will clean and sanitize them after practices and matches.

          We here at Rio Linda Preparatory Academy are fortunate to have excellent volunteer coaches to help your kids learn the sport correctly. We have Coach Randy Rodoni who has a background in wrestling and Jiu Jitsu and currently competes in Jujitsu. We also have Coach Rodrigo Jara, my former high school wrestling coach with 48 years of coaching experience and who actually has competed in the Wrestling Olympic trials. We are also fortunate to have Eve Hogerheide as our new Activities Director without whose support the program would not exist. Practices are currently 3-4:30pm held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday with Wednesday as mandatory Study Hall in the Cafeteria with Ms. Hogerheide.
