Practice is Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 until 4:00. On Wednesday, practice begins after Athlete Study Hall and ends at 2:45.
The first practice is March 3.
 
After games begin on March 18, practices will only be on Mondays and Wednesdays, since there will be games on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
On Tuesdays, girls play their games at 3:00, and boys play second at 4:00. On Thursdays, boys play their games first at 3:00, and girls play their games second at 4:00.

Twin Rivers Unified School District: Girls and Boys Soccer Rules

  • All games will be played by FIFA Laws of the Game as modified by USYSA unless
otherwise stated in this rules section.
  • 11v11 is the Standard of Play. A team may play less than 11 but have at least 9 players.
Anything less will result in a forfeit and the game can be played as a friendly. If a team
borrows players from other teams, it is an automatic forfeit and the game can be played
as a friendly. Ex. 11 v 9, no borrowed players, game results will count toward league
standings.
  • SLIDE TACKLES ARE NOT ALLOWED
  • HEADERS are allowed in games ONLY. The use of HEADERS is not permitted in
practice.
  • The game will not start or continue if there are less than 7 players on a team. If a team
borrows a player or uses a player who is not rostered the game will be played as a
friendly with the team who is short players forfeiting the game.
  • The Duration of the Match – Middle School games shall consist of 25-minute halves.
There will be a 5-minute halftime. There is no OT or shootout in regular season games
  • Playoff: if at the end of regulation, the game is tied a shootout will take place. (There is
no OT or golden goal)
  • 11v11 games, teams may substitute only with the referee’s permission and only at the
following times/circumstances:
  • Before a throw-in, by the team in possession
  • Before a goal kick, by either team
  • After a goal, by either team
  • At halftime, by either team
  • After an injury when the referee stops play. The injured player may be substituted and
ONE player from the opposing team.
  • On a caution - only the cautioned player may be substituted at that time.
  • Coaching: Coaches are responsible for the conduct of their players and spectators. No
coach, player, or spectator can make derogatory remarks or gestures to the referees,
other coaches, players, or spectators. No coach, player, or spectator can use profanity or
incite, in any manner, disruptive behavior.
  • Coaching from the sidelines (giving directions to one’s own team on points of strategy
and position) is permitted providing
  • The tone of the voice is instructive and not derogatory
  • Each coach remains within 10 yards of their side of the halfway line.
  • Cautions and Ejections: Any player receiving two yellow cards (cautions) or a red card in
a single game is considered to have received an ejection. A player who has been
ejected cannot be replaced. A coach or player who has been ejected MUST leave the
immediate area. A player who is ejected from a game is ineligible to participate in the
next scheduled game and, based on the infraction, might not be allowed to return to any
further games. Fighting will not be tolerated and the player, coach, or spectator involved
will be ejected from the league.
